Papa’s will be open expanded hours beginning TODAY!
That is, as long as we don’t run into any more illness (I’m still not recovered from the severe ear infection I got while traveling to and from Los Angeles, where I revamped our vintage jewelry display at the Sherman Oaks Antique Malls), and as long as my day job as a social worker doesn’t interfere (this is supposed to be the slow time of the year, but that doesn’t seem to be happening so far).
If you stop by and the door is locked (but the light is on), please run around the corner to Heritage Collectibles on Main Street. We know it’s a little inconvenient, but until the shops are breaking even, we can’t afford to hire anyone to help out.
We’ll be open from 12:00 until 4:00 today; come on in and say hello!
Papa’s Programs & Services.
Low Income Voucher Program. We’ll be getting our Low Income Vouchers ready soon, so case managers & other social workers we’ve been working with should look for those in your email; if you haven’t been working with us (and don’t know what this is all about), send me an email at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com.
Items of interest to people with low income vouchers: pots & pans, small decoratives, glassware, linens, purses, appliances, and children’s equipment, as well as other items in the shop. We occasionally have small furniture, too. BTW, we no longer carry clothing! (Note: Not all items can be obtained for free via the voucher program. The only items we can afford to give away are those that we received as donations… otherwise, we’d lose our shirt on this venture! Hopefully, everything will be clearly marked, but if not, just ask!)
Cool Thrift Shop Items for the General Public. We have bunches of low cost stuff for you to browse through! In addition to the small decoratives, cut glass & other glassware, and purses mentioned above (and the items listed under Heritage Wholesalers below), we have candlesticks & candle holders, sporting goods, vinyl record albums, Ball jars, mirrors and loads of other things you obviously can’t live without!
Heritage Wholesalers. Not only is Papa’s reopening with greatly expanded inventory for the general public but we’re thrilled to be able to offer some items at wholesale prices to flea marketers and other vendors with state resellers certificates… There’s a small minimum purchase required in addition to the resellers certificate, but other than that, it’s easy-peasy! Come check out the cookbooks, children’s books and other books, framed art and unframed posters, vintage & contemporary china, collectible carousel horses and collectible angels, Christmas and other holiday gift ideas, the Chefs’ collection and more!
We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
Location: Papa’s Thrift Shop at 5 Park Street, Lewiston ME 04240.
Hours: Usually 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Mondays & Fridays, and 12:00 pm to 4;00 pm on Saturdays. Sometimes we’re open at other times … if you happen to drop by and don’t see the door open, check around the corner at Heritage Collectibles. If we can, we’ll open up Papa’s for you.
***DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON WE’RE OPEN EXPANDED HOURS!
Our hours do vary, unfortunately, depending on the demands of our day jobs (Linda is a social worker, and John is the post press supervisor at the local newspaper), whether we are exhibiting at an antiques or home show (rare nowadays), doing a garage sale or flea market clean-out, or are attending an auction we just don’t want to miss! Your best bet is to call us first to make sure we’ll be there, or to make an appointment. We do try to post our hours each day on the shop’s door, and on this blog.
… Linda: 207 740 2247 or LSnyder@regroupbiz.com (easier to reach than John, and somewhat more flexible)
… John: 207 713 0674 or JSnyder@regroupbiz.com
Message re Our Products:
Most of the items we offer are pre-owned (although you’ll find some things still have tags on them). Therefore, reasonable wear & tear is to be expected, and our items are sold as seen and as described in the photos and/or in person.
We try to describe any damage, nicks, blemishes or other problems of which we are aware in any and all of our listings, and always include plenty of clear photographs which are integral to the description, so please review them closely.
We ordinarily do not “clean up” items because such cleaning may detract from their value.
We are specific and honest in our descriptions because we want happy buyers who will return and/or refer their friends!
