A former helicopter pilot with a degree in aeronautics, John Snyder spent 20 years as a systems engineer subcontracted to the U.S. Navy.

In that position, he traveled the world, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and fluidic systems on 105 different Navy ships at sites as far flung as BIW in Maine, Norfolk VA, Pascagoula MS, San Diego, Washington state, and in Japan, Greece, Turkey and the Persian Gulf, among other locations.  Over the years, he was also responsible for training thousands of sailors in those systems.

More recently, John was the Chief Operating Officer for Main Street Property Management and responsible for a crew of 8, and has been a landlord for commercial and residential properties.  After returning to the manufacturing world for a few years, John was drawn back to real estate management, and opened On the Spot Rental Management, where he serves as President and “Johnny On the Spot”.

As the Director of Facilities & Logistics for RH Enterprises, Inc’s division “What a Great Event!”, John works with WaGE! staff and show venues to develop floor plans, manage communications & security, and monitor health & safety concerns.

An active Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce committee member, former volunteer firefighter and fireworks technician, John has also taught workshops for Auburn Adult Education (Intro to Everyday Electricity and Intro to GPS), and has a passion for all things electrical and mechanical.  In addition, he is an accomplished woodsman & farmer, and in 2005 was one of the nation’s top ranked benchmark finders for the U.S. Geodetic Survey team.

Forty years to the day after they first met, John married his 7th grade sweetheart.  He and Linda live in Auburn with their wire-haired dachshund Buddy (Mr. Budro), knuckleheaded little thief & terrier mix Rudi Roo, and Miss Millie Mouse, a rescue from Georgia.  They’ve also fostered an assortment of dogs for two animal rescue groups.  Between them, John and Linda have 4 adult children and four grandchildren, with another due in August 2017, of whom they are very proud.

Both Linda & John have too many interests for their own good, and Heritage Collectibles is yet another area of total fascination for them.  Lifelong garage salers, auction-goers, and “pickers” before the present craze hit the television screens, they have an eye for very cool and unusual items that others might overlook.  (Their home reflects this, which means dusting has become a very time-consuming chore that doesn’t get done nearly as often as it probably should.)

John’s methodical engineering mind guarantees a level of care and   attention to detail that inspires confidence, allowing you to rest easy, knowing your project (or property) is in good hands.

On her mother’s side, Linda Snyder is the 7th generation of her family to live in Maine, and the 5th on her father’s side.  Originally from Oxford County, Linda is a Maine girl through and through.  She grew up on a small farm with vegetable gardens, hayfields and all the assorted farm animals, and learned the value of hard work as a child.

Over the years, Linda has had a great, challenging career that’s spanned  earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology (with Education & Sociology minors), a Master’s degree in Administration of Adult Education Programs, and working as a trainer & educator, a mental health policy consultant for the state, housing developer & grant-writer for a non-profit, a REALTOR®, a radio & social media marketing administrator, and as the CEO of an $8.7M company.

Linda has owned a Maine-made products gift store, an espresso café and was once a member of a farmer’s market cooperative, selling vegetables & baked goods to the public.  She has also been a real estate investor/developer, at one point owning 50,000 square feet of commercial office space and over 2 dozen residential units, as well as a property management company.

Linda has won several awards for business development and for three decades has been active as a community, municipal and state government volunteer. She served on the board of the Androscoggin Chamber for 6 years and the Bridgton Chamber for two, was President of the Auburn Business Association for two years, and has served on the boards of LA Arts, the  Lewiston Downtown Advisory Board, and the Mayors’ Joint Services        Commission (on Lewiston-Auburn Collaboration), among many others.

In May of 2009 Linda was appointed by then-Governor John Baldacci to the Maine Regulatory Fairness Board, which was charged by the Legislature with listening to citizen complaints about unfair and aggressive tactics by state regulatory agencies.  (That board was disbanded by the current administration.)  In 2010 Linda joined the City of Auburn’s Citizen Advisory Board; she was appointed to the City of Auburn’s Ethics Panel on April 1st, 2013.

Now married to her 7th grade sweetheart, Linda and husband John live in Auburn with their wire-haired dachshund Buddy (Mr. Budro), knuckleheaded little thief & terrier mix Rudi Roo, and Miss Millie Mouse, a Kelpie rescue from Georgia.  They’ve also fostered an assortment of dogs for two animal rescue groups.  Between them, John and Linda have 4 adult children and two grandchildren, of whom they are very proud.

Whether she’s acting as your organizational consultant, as your event planner, or is indulging her own eclectic interests, Linda brings a lifetime of intensive business experience, as well as enthusiasm, a detail-oriented style and a genuine interest in her clients.
